Double Play™ Gold spirea is a compact, low mounded beauty with vibrant, pure golden foliage and an abundance of pure pink flowers. In side by side trails with twenty other selections this plant shined above all others in the garden and in our container trials. The foliage hold a good gold color also season long and has very good mildew resistance. |

Hardiness: USDA Zone 4 Bloom Time: Spring, repeating until frost Bloom Color: Large, vibrant pink blooms Foliage Color: Superb foliage flushes bright yellow and mature to gold. Very colorful and clean. Fall Color: Gold Size: 16"-24" tall. Habit is very neat. Exposure: Full sun is ideal. Will tolerate partial shade Soil: Average, medium moisture, well drained soils. Pruning: Best if done after blooming in mid-summer. To promote flowering, remove faded flower clusters (or deadhead). Watering: Medium moisture. Wildlife: Butterflies Type: Deciduous Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees & shrubs.
