Abelia
This compact plant has the largest flowers of any abelia! Pendulous, lavender-pink flowers bloom from mid-summer to fall. New growth on the foliage and stems takes on red hues in late spring and autumn. This cross between Abelia schumannii 'Bumblebee' and Abelia zanderi 'Little Richard' has a strong root system, healthy growth and excellent container presentation.
Prefers moist, well drained soil. Trim to shape after flowering. This plant may benefit from a hard shearing every couple of years. Fertilize in early spring with a controlled release fertilizer.
