Philadelphus x
An exciting new mock orangedeveloped at the Memorial University Botanical Garden in Newfoundland. Bronzy-purple new growth is followed by exceptionally large flowers accented by a purplish-black calyx. As it opens, it looks like a little star. It is hardier than most other varieties, and is sterile.
Adaptable to most moist, well drained soils. Heavy pruning is usually not needed, but may be pruned to shape after flowering.
