 ROSE SATIN®       Rose of Sharon

 

A standout new plant with large single, deep rose-pink flowers adorned with a prominent red center. Rose Satin® hibiscus has the richest true pink bloom of any Rose of Sharon. The elegant flowers have an attractive ruffled edge.  It is a strong growing plant that blooms from late July until frost. This beauty was hybridized by Claude Bellion of Minier Nurseries of France. Hardiness:  USDA Zone 5

Bloom Time:  Mid-summer

Bloom Color: Large, single, ruffled deep pink with a red eye

Foliage Color:  Green

Size:  8-12 feet tall, 3-5 feet wide

Exposure:  Full sun

Soil: Grows in about any soil unless it is either really wet or dry.

Pruning: In late fall or early spring. Can be heavily pruned.

Watering: Medium moisture

Wildlife: None

Type: Deciduous

Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees & shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application. 

Uses: Late season color, groupings or masses, perennial or shrub borders, specimen, screens or hedges.

A tremendous improvement in hardy Hibiscus.  Strong growing plants with lots of large, brightly colored blooms, the SATIN® hibiscus are clearly superior to older, weaker varieties. Much more vigorous than older varieties.

ROSE SATIN® hibiscus has large, single flowers with a ruffled edge.  The prominent red center shows off the deep rose pink bloom
