Description

'Mount Airy' fothergilla is a popular landscape plant thanks to its vigorous growth and abundant white flowers. Dark green foliage takes on consistent yellow-orange-red fall color. Selected by Dr. Mike Dirr at the Mt. Airy Arboretum.

Soil

Moist, well-drained, acidic soils. Needs good drainage.

Pruning

Little pruning is required - prune after flowering if desired. Avoid cutting into thick stems unless removing them entirely, as recovery will be slow.
