Description

My Monet® 'Sunset' weigela is a unique dwarf weigela grown primarly for its colorful foliage. It occasionally puts out rosy pink blooms, but the main attraction is the variegated chartreuse foliage that blazes in sunset tones of orange, red, and yellow in autumn.

Adapts to any well-drained site.

Pruning

Blooms on old wood - prune as needed after flowering. Remove oldest stems every 3-5 years to encourage vigorous juvenile growth.

Mixed borders; edging; groundcover; foundation plantings.

Growing Tips

Late to leaf out in spring. May require a bit of pruning to clean up winter damage - wait until new growth appears to do so. Makes a nice cut stem for foliage interest.
