This plant has become one of my all time favorites and at 47, I've been gardening awhile.  I planted seven in a grouping/clump in a semi sunny location receiving mostly afternoon into evening sun.  They have grown very well and in spring deliver a show stopping performance of heavy blooms.  The white flower against the lime gold foliage pops especially when planted against the dark green of arborvitae.  If you see this plant in your local nursery, BUY IT!

I have 6 of the plants. 3 get approximately 5 hours of sun a day and have grown quite large. The other 3 get approximately 2 hours of sun a day and have not grown a lot, but are still absolutely beautiful. They are so easy. I have never trimmed them (in the past 2 years) but will cut the larger ones back after they bloom this spring. We have deer and rabbits (also fox, raccoons, possum and snapping turtles) and they don't bother the plants at all, unlike the hostas and black eyed susans which were devoured.

Love it, want more of it!  I have black walnut trees in my back yard which produce juglone, a toxin to most plants.  However, the Chardonnay Pearls deutzia I tested out there is flourishing and the lime green brightens the shade.  When it is in bloom it's so bright it takes your breath away.

Love this shrub!I have two in a darker corner of my yard and will be soon adding another! Covered in gorgeous white pearls as I write this (end May)and the lime green foliage is stunning. I would recommend highly.
