Hosted Pink Day fundraiser as part of campaign to raise $1 million for Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Centre Hall, PA, December 2011 – The Invincibelle® Spirit Campaign recognized Wheatfield Nursery with “The Most Creative Event in 2011” for their fundraiser to raise money for breast cancer research.

Wheatfield Nursery hosted their “Pink Day,” a unique in-store fundraiser, on July 30 as part of the Invincibelle® Spirit Campaign to raise $1 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

“What made this Pink Day so amazing was its lumberjack theme, complete with competitive demonstrations by the Pennsylvania Professional Lumberjack Association!” said Stacey Hirvela, a marketing specialist and an organizer with the Invincibelle Spirit Campaign. “We’ve helped plan several hundred local Pink Days over the last two years, across the U.S. and Canada. And Wheatfield Nursery’s was one of the most exciting and creative we’ve seen yet.”

Melissa Berrier, promotional manager with Wheatfield Nursery, was the organizer behind the Pink Day.  Berrier, who is also a professional lumberjack, attributed the success of the event to partnerships with organizations like the Pennsylvania Professional Lumberjack Association.

“We were extremely pleased with the turnout for our first Pink Day,” said Berrier. “We are thankful for the support of Nittany Shop with Heart, the Centre County Dairy Promotion, Comcast and all of our other vendors, partners, employees and especially our customers.”

In addition to the lumberjack demonstrations, the event also featured face painting, live music, a gift basket raffle and free ice cream. Photos of the Pink Day are available, contact Melissa Berrier at 814-364-2255. Wheatfield Nursery ( is located at 1948 General Potter Hwy. (Route 322) in Centre Hall, PA.

The Invincibelle® Spirit campaign gathers support from garden centers across North America in a joint effort to host fund¬raisers for BCRF. As part of the campaign, garden centers will also be displaying the new Invincibelle® Spirit pink ‘Annabelle’ hydrangea. For every Invincibelle® Spirit hydrangea sold, $1.00 will be sent to the BCRF.

“We loved the Pink Day concept and will continue to have an event every year! I cannot say enough about the positive response from our vendors, customers and employees,” said Berrier

The Invincibelle Spirit® Campaign, in partnership with Proven Winners® ColorChoice® and garden centers across the U.S. and Canada, is embarking on a $1 million fundraising effort in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. For more information on how you can help, visit
