Description

Named for its very large blooms, 'Skyland Giant' climbing hydrangea was selected at the New Jersey State Botanical Garden at Skylands. Useful for adding interest to walls, trees, and chimneys. Growers should provide a support at potting time. Also known as Hydrangea anomala subsp. petiolaris and Hydrangea petiolaris; H. anomala is the current accepted name.

Growing Tips

Climbing hydrangeas are generally slow to establish, but will be vigorous once they are. Climbs by rootlets; provide a strong support. Flower color is not affected by soil pH.
