So do a lot of other people. They're a sentimental favorite, and with good reason. It's hard to beat that lilac fragrance, and the blooms are easy to cut and enjoy in a vase. Lilacs are practical, too, being relatively deer resistant. They need full sun, good drainage and good air circulation but given those things will tolerate the pollution and salt spray of urban conditions...
