Deppe Family Recognized by Horticultural Research Institute
The Deppe Family and Spring Meadow Nursery were given a milestone recognition for commitment to Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) at Cultivate ‘19 on Saturday, July 13, 2019.
HRI has been progressing the horticulture industry by funding scientific research for almost 60 years. HRI states they, “proudly support scientific research and students for the advancement of the horticultural industry.”
As one of the donors to the HRI, Spring Meadow and the Deppe Family have invested in the fund for 25 years. In that time, they have also helped establish a scholarship program within the organization. To date, they have donated over $900,000 to fund research and scholarships.
HRI recognized Spring Meadow and the Deppe family, “who, by their dedicated efforts and generous gifts, help advance the horticulture industry through research and scholarship.”
Dale Deppe has dedicated 47 years to the horticulture industry. In 1981 Dale and Liz Deppe founded Spring Meadow Nursery and what started as a small, primarily contract-growing operation has grown to become one of the largest and best-known woody plant liner providers in North America. A core part of the Spring Meadow values is giving back to organizations that embody the spirit of innovation and positive change that further growth for all.
“We’re just getting started” is an often heard phrase around Spring Meadow, and keeping true to that philosophy, Dale’s response to his milestone recognition was, “We are always looking forward to what can be better. There’s so much left to do.
