Description

Amazing color and texture! Bangle® Genista is a floriferous, low-mounding selection that produces waves of screaming-yellow flowers in spring. Improved branching make it ideally suited to containers and mass plantings. Outside its bloom time, green stems with tiny, fine leaves secure interesting texture all year long.

Soil

Thrives in dry conditions - perfect drainage is imperative.

Pruning

May be trimmed or pruned after flowering. Benefits from rejuvenation pruning every 4-6 years to encourage new growth, which is more floriferous than old stems.

Uses

Groundcover, container, mass planting, border, rock gardens, to cascade over a wall. Genista makes a very interesting addition to perennial gardens or along the edge of mixed borders, providing fantastic texture even when not in bloom.

Growing Tips

Though it benefits from supplemental water while it gets established, genista is superlatively tolerant of hot, dry conditions once established.
