'China Boy' and 'China Girl' were noted breeder Kathleen Meserve's attempt to introduce more heat tolerance into her famous blue hollies by breeding with Ilex cornuta. Plant one 'China Boy' to pollinate up to seven 'China Girl' hollies for a good fruit set.
