Description

Freshen up the landscape with Kodiak Fresh diervilla! This fast-growing, easy-care diervilla brings bright and lively color to the garden with new growth that emerges in tones of orange and red then matures to chartreuse. Yellow flowers pepper the plant all summer long, attracting pollinators. Ideal for low-maintenance hedges, as well as incorporating into pollinator and native plant gardens; even traditional perennial and flower gardens will find a place for its neat foliage and clean color.

Soil

Adaptable to any soil, except excessively soggy sites.

Pruning

Blooms on new wood so spring pruning is best. Needs little regular pruning; however, benefits from rejuvenation every 3-5 years.

Uses

Ideal for mass plantings of all types: hedges, foundation, wildlife gardens. Very well suited to filler material in cut flower production

Growing Tips

Diervilla is one of the most shade tolerant shrubs, however, blooming and foliage color are best with some sun. With its very vivid foliage, especially in fall, it's a nice alternative to burning bush.
