There are many ways to add coverage and even color to your yard – but fragrance? Only plants can do that, and it is one of the things that even the most plant-blind can appreciate. While there are plenty of plants known to be fragrant, like lilacs and roses, there are plenty more that people aren’t familiar with that are ripe for growing through marketing.

The fragrant program is new for 2027, giving us the opportunity to highlight this unique feature and drive traffic to garden centers. After all, it’s nearly impossible to describe a plant’s fragrance without referencing the plant itself (really, try it!) so when curiosity gets the best of them, the only way to satisfy it is to go see the plant in person.
