Soft serve ice cream sounds good in July. Soft Serve® Chamaecyparis does, too, but the evergreen will be just as appealing in cold weather, too. It grows 6-10' tall and 5-6' wide and is hardy in USDA 4-8. It will grow in full sun or part shade, but try to protect it from harsh winter winds and make sure it has well-drained soil.
