Description

A boxwood alternative for warmer climates. Candybox™ Ugni molinae is a compact selection that perfectly fills any landscape role a boxwood would normally occupy. Its small, dark green leaves and fine branching make it perfectly suited for shearing into neat round meatballs or low hedges. Its dark evergreen foliage is not the only interest this shrub has to offer; adding to its charm are tiny pink flowers, followed by red fall fruits that taste like delicious sweet candy– no pollinator required. Its drought and heat tolerance, handsome evergreen foliage, and versatile habit make this Chilean guava an incredibly useful landscape plant. Candybox™ Chilean guava was developed by Viveros Hijuelas of Quillota, Chile.
