Description

Orange is happy. Orange is cheerful. And there's no orange-r barberry than Sunjoy Neo®. Tom Ranney of NCSU brings us this eye-catching, jaw-dropping new selection that is bright and colorful all season, positively electric in spring. Dense, semi-dwarf habit makes it an ideal selection for landscape or garden beds.

Sunjoy Neo® barberry has been tested under trial code H2007-001-031 and determined to be wheat rust resistant; it has not yet been added to the federal register, however.

Soil

Any well-drained soil will do; tolerates dry conditions once established.

Pruning

Barberry does not take well to hard pruning. However, it may be trimmed as needed in late spring/early summer. Avoid cutting into thick wood unless you are removing entire branches.

Uses

Mixed borders, ground cover, edging, foundation plantings

Growing Tips

Naturally grows as a low rounded mound without pruning. Tolerates urban conditions.
