Description

Dakota Sunspot® is a compact, spreading potentilla with vivid yellow flowers and fine, bright green foliage. Flowers from mid-summer to frost. This cold-hardy plant was selected at North Dakota State University.

Soil Tolerates most any soil, with the possible exception of prolonged wet conditions.

Pruning Benefits from a good trim in late winter/early spring, during which up to one-third of the oldest branches may be removed as well. Periodic rejuvenation is recommended.

Uses Mixed borders; foundation plantings; mass plantings.

Growing Tips Though potentilla can grow in partial shade, a minimum of six hours of sun is recommended for best flowering and form. Flowering may slow during periods of hot weather. Very deer resistant.
