Description

Wow - that's the only word to describe the shade and depth of the red flowers on Estrellita Scarlet firecracker bush (Bouvardia sp.). They are such an astonishingly vivid and true red, you're liable to think their fake. Not to worry, though, the hummingbirds know they're real and this bouvardia will bring them in by the score. This Southwestern US/Mexico native blooms all summer long and offers a neat, compact habit that makes it easy to use in landscape and garden plantings in warm climates, or as a seasonal color container plant in cool ones. It grows fast enough that gardeners will enjoy a summer full of blooms either way. Heat and drought tolerant.
