SPLENDID!™ Blue
Highbush blueberry
Vaccinium corymbosum
'NC4499'
PPAF; CBRAF
- Ornamental + edible
- Sweet, tasty berries
- Handsome blue foliage
- Description
Splendid! Blue blueberry is the rare blueberry that combines incredible sweetness and flavor with genuine ornamental value. This tidy highbush blueberry naturally grows as a neat, rounded mound of dusky blue foliage that looks great with other plants and any color of home - even difficult-to-complement red and orange brick. Spring brings lovely white flowers, and summer sees the development of luscious blueberries that are very sweet and flavorful. It will set fruit without a pollinator but sets more fruit, and larger fruit if a compatible pollinator (any warm climate blueberry should do) is present.
