Description

Not your typical arborvitae, Cheer Drops® thuja brings a unique Weeble-like shape to the landscape. Its teardrop habit makes it perfect for creating shorter, wider hedges and windbreaks or as a specimen plant. The dense, fresh green foliage gives it a lush, fluffy appearance no matter where you use it. Cheer Drops® arborvitae doesn’t require any pruning to maintain its charming habit, though it does respond well to trimming. With this fun thuja, you get year-round color, texture, and structure in the garden. Get over Emerald arborvitae and try something more interesting.

Soil

Adaptable in terms of pH; best growth is in moderately moist, cool, fertile soils.

Pruning

Does not strictly require pruning, though it does tolerate it well. Prune in spring before new growth begins.

Growing Tips

Tolerates heat and drought once established. Keep watered after pruning to minimize browning; this is also an effective strategy to minimize winter damage to foliage in cold areas.
